A selfie is a very popular form of photography in today's social media. The selfie is a way that many people take pride in and use for an identity on social media. But, many people argue that the selfie is just something for social media and should not be taken as seriously as the self portrait.
The self portrait is taken on a more professional camera, unlike a phone camera for a selfie. Like selfies, self portraits can be taken in a mirror and be used with different types of extensions. On an iPhone, selfies can be taken on tripods, selfie sticks, and other devices specially made for smart phones. You can also take selfies on go pros. Self portraits can be taken mostly using tripods or propping up the camera due to stability issues.
Although both forms of photography can be seen as similar, one version seems to be taken more serious than the other. Self portraits are more professional way to present an image. Due to how simple and uncomplicated taking a selfie is, it has become a social media milestone for this century.

Phobia Project
What is a phobia?
A Phobia is an extreme or irrational fear of or aversion to something.
Ex.
Nyctophobia- The fear of the dark/ darkness.
Arachnophobia- Fear of spiders.
Coulrophobia- Fear of clowns.
Cacophobia- Fear of ugliness.
Autophobia- Fear of being alone or of oneself.
Phobia Photo Brainstorm.
Nyctophobia-
Figure/ objects: boy or girl around 16-17, hands around the subject.
Format: I want the picture to appear uncomfortable and claustrophobic, so I want to take the picture vertically.
Subject placement: I want the subject to be directly in the center of the picture.
Background: I want the background to be pitch black
Point of view: I want to be directly above the subject as if they were laying down.
Lighting: I want the picture to be extremely dark, and the subject sticking out of the background due to sickly pale skin.
Clothing: I am still choosing between neutral colors, or bright vibrant colors like pale pink and yellow to help the subject stick out.
Subject: I want the subject to be visibly terrified with dirty hands coming out from the darkness.
I want to shoot these pictures in doors with a black sheet or background to lay on. I want to do this because the lighting from the outside is too bright and adds warmth that I don't want to the picture. Usually the fear of the dark comes from being afraid of what is in the dark. To show this I want to have hands, that are dirtied up with black eye shadow, around the subject with hard grips around the arms, and also one around the mouth.
Autophobia-
Figure/ objects: A single person, most likely a girl around the age of 16
Format: vertical, to create the illusion of excessive extra space.
Subject placement: I want the subject to, again, be placed directly in the center of the picture.
Background: I want the background to be extremely simple and almost boring
Point of view: I want to face the subject directly in front of them
Lighting: I want the lighting to be little dim, to show the idea of the place being abandoned
Clothing: bright light pink shirt and light washed jeans, I want the subject to look like any regular teen
Subject: I want the subject to face away from the camera, to show that the subject has not seen the camera and honestly believes that they are alone.
I want to shoot this photo indoors to, again, reduce the amount of colors in the subject's skin and also in the room. I want the subject to be dressed in the pink shirt to contrast the many traces of blue that are often found when shooting indoors. I want this picture to show a "creepy" feeling by using this lighting. There is no warmth and comfort in fear.
Cacophobia-
Figure/ objects: I want the subject to be a female teen. I want the subject to be surrounded by many makeup products, and possibly have "black mascara" tears.
Format: I want the formant of the picture to be horizontal
Subject placement: I want the subject to be directly in the middle of the picture.
Background: I want the background to be "white, frilly, and girly" to show the basic idea of the "feminine ideal" in a tragic state
Point of view: I want the point of view to again be straight on.
Lighting: I want there to be dim lighting again, to show that same creepy mood from the other pictures.
Clothing: Maybe a frilly dress, but i would rather have the same pink shirt to show that constant theme in the other pictures.
Subject: I want to take pictures of the subject crying with the black tears, and also smiling with the tears, I cannot choose what way I should go with the emotion of the subject.

Welcome Back!
I like this picture because of the many colors that are used in the picture, I also like the movement shown by the swimmers. I also like that through the competition, nations came together to swim.
I like this picture due to the movement from the refugees, and also the joy in the people's eyes knowing that they have been rescued.
I like the many colors that are shown in the picture, even the trash. I like that even around the poverty and trash, they walk around like kings and parade around with pride and celebration.
1. What was the best song of 2016?
The best song of 2016 was "Death of a Batchelor" by Panic! at the Disco. I think this because not only this is my favorite song, but it is a very important song to the fans of the band. The song and the album represent a new chapter in his life, him getting married.
2. What was the best movie of 2016?
The best movie of 2016 was "Finding Dory". I think this because of the significance that it means to the children that grew up with the insanely popular children's movie "The Finding Nemo". The movie had finally come out with a spectacular sequel that surpassed the expectations from all that have seen it. The movie was seen as a success from both the grossing and emotional stand point.
3. What was the most important news story of the year?
The most important news story of the year was the announcement of Trump's presidency. This was an important news story, because this information has the ability to change the future of the entire world. With a man that now has weapons of mass destruction, and hot headed approaches, he is able to break alliances and to cause pain in suffering to many people. He brings a darkness in the American people that we have tried to put away for decades. People are scared, as they should be.
1. Tell me what is the one thing that happened on your holiday that you will remember? It can be a trip, a family visit, a present, something fun.
My sister got me some really cute looking overalls from Urban Outfitters.
2. What are your resolutions for the 2017 year?
