- What is your favorite newspaper front page? Why?
My favorite newspaper front page was "Express", published by The Washington Post. I was drawn to it because it was the only page that was covered by a picture of a cute panda.
- What is your favorite headline from that newspaper? Why are you interested in it?
My favorite newspaper headline was "Bon Voyage, Bao Bao" because it was about a panda departing from China's zoo.
- How many stories are on the front page of your favorite?
There were 4 stories on the front of the cover page.
- What do you notice that all newspaper front pages have in common? Look at design, size of photos, size of story text, etc.
All of the papers seemed to share the same idea of having a vocal point with the main story, usually having the main picture relate to it, and then other side stories. There is always a prominent Title (of the newspaper) on the top of the page catching all attention, and then the small, but relatively large, headlines. Most of the papers seem to use the same "Times New Roman" type font.
- What are things that vary (or are different) on the front pages of different newspapers? Look at design, size of photos, size of headlines, etc.
The layout seems to slightly change throughout the cover designs, there are different stories, some of the papers like to use pictures for every headline on the front page. Very few of them put the main headline picture taking up the entire cover like a magazine.
