My Favorite Cover

This photograph of Floyd Mayweather wasn’t meant to be for the public to see on a magazine cover, however when we saw the defending champ demonstrating his famous shoulder roll, they decided to put the picture on the cover of this ESPN cover. They decided to use a white background to contrast the subject and make him more prominent of the cover. The cover became a huge success in the sports industry, now making this cover one of the most recognizable covers created so far.

This photo was a huge success due to the different element for photography that was used to make the photograph more interesting. The action in the picture, shown from the subtle use of the rule of thirds, allows the viewer to have more of an understanding of what is happening in the picture. The subject's confidence also plays a major role. The black and white in the photo gives the reader a sense of balance.
